We are always happy to answer any questions you may have.

Q:  Do you give free estimates?

A:  We certainly do.  When you call us, we will set up a time to meet you at the project site to discuss the project.  We like to see the project site before giving estimates so that we can be as thorough and accurate as possible.  We want to be sure that we are completely understanding your intentions and are envisioning the same things.

Q:  What is a Comprehensive Project Evaluation?

A:  We sometimes have clients call us with projects in mind that require a fair amount of front-end problem solving - for example, there are potential code and/or variance issues or the overall scope is relatively undetermined.  For these projects, we often propose a Comprehensive Project Evaluation [CPE].  The purpose of the of the CPE is to help you understand your project and to get everyone on the same gameplan.  Upon completion of the Comprehensive Project Evaluation, you will receive a project overview, a set of project specifications, pricing and drawings and/or sketches.  These are the tools that you will need to get proper bids [instead of contractors shooting from the hip, so to speak, and bidding on a project that is not fully understood], and ultimately get the project started.

Q:  Do you provide design services?

A:  Yes, we do provide design services.  We offer a design contract on larger scale and detailed projects where we will discuss your project with you, prepare drawings and/or sketches, and provide budget estimates. Ultimately, we are builders, so we want to build your project.  Thus, if we proceed through the design phase and into the construction phase, the design services are credited to the construction costs.

Q:  What is your service area?

A:  We primarily work in Steuben, DeKalb, LaGrange and Noble Counties in Indiana and Branch County in Michigan.  While those areas consist of the core of our service area, we do sometimes extend into Allen County in Indiana, St. Joseph and Hillsdale Counties in Michigan, and Williams County in Ohio.

Q:  How soon can you get started?

A:  We are always trying to keep our team busy.  Our turn-around time, from initial consultation to start of construction, depends on a few variables.  The faster that we are able to make decisions and approve our scope of work, materials selections, etc, the faster we can get started on the construction.  If we are going to be doing exterior work, weather has some influence on our ability to get started.  Delivery times on special order items from our material suppliers can also impact our turn-around time.  If you project requires a variance, the application and approval process can take 4-6 weeks.  However, we always strive to align our schedule with your desired schedule.
